My first ever memory of fishing was as a 4 year old, fishing Waveney Valley lakes with my Dad, I remember it well, I still have that awful photo of me holding a small dace in the worst pink cardigan you will ever see!
Those fond memories inspired me to tag along with my fiancee, 4 years ago.
We went to a local runs water, and well, what can I say, that first time the buzzer screamed, watching that rod tip pull round, I picked the rod up and began the battle with my very first carp, what a buzz, I was literally hooked!!
Having learnt the ropes on local day tickets, the last 2 years has seen me pit my wits against some of Suffolk’s finest carp on my local syndicate lake where my biggest fish last year was a mirror carp of 25lb +
Earlier this year I was lucky enough to be invited to fish the awesome Airfield Lakes Mustang in Norfolk. Fishing for some of Norfolk’s best and biggest carp was special, everything I had learnt during my fishing apprenticeship was put to the test.
In tough conditions I managed to smash my PB with a 35lb+ mirror, what can I say, what a feeling, what an experience.
I have had a whirlwind introduction in to carp fishing, a hobby where I have made some great friends and met some really inspirational people.
To now be asked to help promote such an established bait company steeped in history is a great honour.
I can’t wait to progress as a female carp angler, whilst inspiring others in the sport, using a bait I can be 100% confident in.
